Three simple steps.

Requires an Apple Silicon Mac (M-series chip) running macOS 14 or later.

1. Download and install

  1. Open the downloaded DMG and drag Notch Revenue to Applications.
  2. Open Notch Revenue from Applications. Its icon will appear in the menu bar.
  3. The app checks for new versions daily by default and asks before installing an update.

2. Activate your license

  1. Need a license key? Buy Notch Revenue (US$19.99, one-time payment, unlimited devices).
  2. Once payment is confirmed, your key appears on the purchase page and is emailed to your checkout address.
  3. Click the Notch Revenue icon in your Mac's menu bar, open “许可证与商户” (License & Accounts), paste your key and click “激活此 Mac” (Activate this Mac). Use the same key to activate each of your Macs.
  4. Lost your key? Visit Recover license key and enter your purchase email to request another copy.

3. Connect Stripe

Notch Revenue only needs read-only permissions. Keys stay in your Mac's Keychain. Your Mac reads revenue directly from Stripe, without sending it through our servers.

  1. In your Stripe dashboard, open Developers → API keys and make sure you are in live mode (not test mode or a sandbox).
  2. Click “Create restricted key” and name it Notch Revenue.
  3. Set only the following resources to Read and leave all others set to None:
    • Accounts
    • Balance
    • Balance Transaction Sources
    • Charges and Refunds
    • Events
  4. Copy the new key beginning with rk_live_ , then add an account in the app's settings and paste it there.
  5. If you use a Stripe Organization, you can use an organization key beginning with sk_org_ and enter each account's acct_ ID。

For safety, the app does not accept unrestricted sk_live_ keys.

Frequently asked questions

When does revenue update?

The app syncs at startup, then checks again two hours after each sync finishes. You can also refresh manually. Celebrations happen when a sync finds new payments, so alerts may be delayed by about two hours. Monitoring pauses while your Mac sleeps or the app is closed. The first sync does not celebrate historical payments. Today and this month use Beijing time.

Does it work offline?

You can view cached data offline, but cannot fetch new Stripe revenue. Each successful license verification allows up to 30 days of offline use. The app periodically rechecks when online. Network failures keep the previous data with a sync status, rather than showing zero revenue.

Can I connect multiple Stripe accounts?

Yes. Add them in “许可证与商户” (License & Accounts). The notch shows combined and individual account figures. Settlement currencies are displayed separately.

What about Intel Macs or other payment platforms?

This version supports Apple Silicon and Stripe. See future platform plans on the Roadmap.
